Social-Emotional Leadership is our evidence-based framework that emphasizes the importance of emotional intelligence and social skills in student leadership. Developing students' Social-Emotional Leadership leads to improvement in students' engagement with school, sense of belonging, and grades.
This 8-hour, self-paced, online leadership course aims to familiarize teachers with Social-Emotional Leadership and equip them with tools to support incorporating the principles of Social-Emotional Leadership into their classrooms.
As participants progress through this course, they will develop:
- Familiarity with the attributes of Social-Emotional Leadership
- A facilitative approach to teaching
- Debriefing skills through practice and application
- An original lesson plan that integrates Social-Emotional Leadership into their curriculum
- An understanding of our book, Social-Emotional Leadership: A Guide for Youth Development.
At the end of the course, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion for 8 hours of professional development.
